I’ve been keeping a big secret from you.
At first it was bc I thought I already blabbered about it a million times (WRONG)
Then it was to avoid confusion. My messaging is around high-glam public relations, my super power is creating communications that captivate and convert.
And THIS.
This sucky, messy journey of what lead me to being a Champion of PR for all of YOU,
This is not glamorous or sophisticated or aspirational.
But it’s real. And authentic. And THIS is the why behind my ferocious drive to teach others how to do their own PR.
Flashback to mid 2018. Me working 80-100 hours a week, leading global PR and communications for an entertainment studio.
Immersed in a toxic culture and would hope there would be a natural disaster on my way to work just so I wouldn’t have to be in the toxic environment.
The idea for Who’s That Housewife!? came to me and I started researching vendors in my “downtime”
I sold 70 percent of my wardrobe on Poshmark. I poured my weekends and nights into designing and creation.
Budget constraints made it so I ordered each component for the game piece meal.
And my (now empty) apartment became the warehouse to store all the sand timers, plastic crowns and other elements in.
Fall rolls around & the design partner I hired turned out to be a dud. Which, meant my game would not be ready in time for holiday.
For physical products, games specifically, 75% of sales are made between Halloween and Christmas. And I wouldn’t be in on it.
In December I faced more delays with production and toyed with the idea of scrapping the whole thing, just giving away the boxes to friends who enjoyed the game and selling all the crowns on eBay.
Then 2019 rolled around. I finally had all the pieces to assemble a brand and in Marc, one year later, I was ready to go live.
And I had no email list, social media following, marketing budget, no Rolodex of contacts, no team etc.
I had 2 hours a week to devote to marketing (I was still working full time & it was our busy season)
PR was the area I felt the most confident in and only way I knew how to generate sales so, I went for it.
When I say I get where you are and I connect to being an entrepreneur. It’s bc I know how sucky and scary it can be.
I know the courage it takes to go ALL IN and put something you poured your heart, soul and mind into-out in the world. I get how hard it can be to put yourself out there. I know that there are so many other things tugging at you, demanding your time. And how easy it is to let the excuses get in the way.
And I know how tough it is to get attention when you’re just starting out. When $500 for a marketing budget is A LOT OF MONEY. And doing FB ads feels as though you are setting your money on 🔥.
I also know just how important it is to speak up & share your message. I know what an enormous impact you can make. I know just how much audiences need to hear what you have to say.
And that’s why I’m here. To help you set the world wildly ablaze.
